You will no doubt have heard in the news media that the local DHB has asked patients to think before attending the Emergency Department at the moment as they are overwhelmed because of staff sickness and increased number of patients.
We fully support this stance and believe that General Practice should be the first option for most issues. Unless you have a medical emergency.
That being said our services are also very busy at this time and will continue to be that way over the winter period.
We expect to see rising cases of the usual coughs, colds and respiratory issues that winter always brings. We have 21 doctors on staff who are all working hard to see patients as early and conveniently as possible but unfortunately due to high levels of increased demand there could be a longer waiting time to see your doctor.
We are doing everything in our power to ensure you can be seen by the most appropriate person in the best timeframe possible. I understand that if you are unwell you just want to see a doctor and within the quickest time but at this time I ask for your patience and tolerance, we are doing everything we can to provide the best service possible.
