Acute vs chronic conditions
Acute conditions are severe and sudden in onset. This could describe anything from a broken bone to an asthma attack. A chronic condition, by contrast is a long-developing syndrome, such as osteoporosis or asthma.
If you have an acute issue that needs to be dealt with immediately you should get in touch with us to book an acute clinic appointment. If you have an issue or concern that isn’t as pressing, you can make an appointment in one of our regular clinics.
Acute clinic
Ropata Health run an acute clinic everyday to provide appointments for severe and sudden onset conditions. These can only be booked on the day and may not be with your regular doctor.
Acute appointments are from 8.30am to 9.30pm (book-on-the-day) on weekdays and from 9am to 5.30pm on the weekends.
If you have an urgent issue, please phone us on (04) 920 0800 to make an appointment.
Regular clinic
Our regular clinic appointments are 15 minutes in duration. They can be booked by phone, in person and online on Manage My Health.
Ropata Health understand that you may not be able to see your doctor during normal working hours so we run various evening clinics each week night from 5.30pm. You do not have to pay extra to attend a regular clinic in the evening.
* if accessing an acute appointment after 5.30pm or on a weekend, then weekend charges apply.
