Dr Pragassam was born and raised in Malaysia, but has lived and worked in the West Indies and the United Kingdom until she moved to New Zealand over 10 years ago. She has worked extensively in the hospital setting, with a particular focus on emergency medicine, before moving into general practice.
Outside of work, Dr Pragassam is a wife and mother, and enjoys spending time with her family and friends.
