Originally from the Hutt Valley, Dr Burcher studied medicine at the University of Auckland, graduating in 2007.
She and her husband Sam spent four years working in hospitals around the country before completing their GP training in Queenstown and Dunedin.
Karin worked as a GP at Masterton Medical for four years before joining Ropata in 2018. She continues work at their Marae-based clinic, a job she loves. She particularly enjoys women’s and child health, and holds postgraduate qualifications in both.
However, most of the time Karin can be found running around after her three young children, and drinking plenty of coffee to keep up with them.
