Call 111 if you have chest pain, difficulty breathing or other emergency symptoms.
The ambulance officers know what we can deal with so will direct you to us, if appropriate.
Ropata Health has an acute clinic available for our patients during our opening hours.
The Acute service is for “acute episodes” only, such as:
- Chest pain
- Shortness of breath
- Bleeding
- Severe pain
- Chest infections
- Fever
- Ear ache
- Severe headache
- Unwell children
- Bites – insects, dogs and cat
There is an acute clinic scheduled every morning and afternoon. If you are unsure if your need fits the acute criteria, please feel free to phone and talk with our reception staff on 04 – 920 0800. The acute clinic is integrated into the general practice. All patients will be able to use the acute clinic if they feel that their medical or accident need is urgent and they cannot wait for their usual doctor.
We may refer you to another service within Ropata Health once we have assessed you and given any treatment for your acute problem, to manage any ongoing health issues and reduce the chance of further urgent problems. Your usual records will be easily accessible from the centre and so your own doctor will very soon know of the concern about your urgent health.
This facility will be staffed by our own general practitioners and nurses on rotation, so that you will soon get to know us all.
