At Ropata Health, we’re proud to be more than a medical practice.
We work alongside local organisations, charities, and community groups to improve health and wellbeing for people in Te Awakairangi and beyond – and to have some fun together along the way.
Community health services at Ropata
Mobile Imaging PET-CT clinics
Ropata Health hosts regular weekly clinics with Mobile Imaging, who provide advanced PET-CT scanning using a state-of-the-art mobile unit on site at our practice.
This service is designed to bring hospital-level diagnostics closer to home, improving equity of access for people who live in regional areas across Aotearoa New Zealand. Kōkiri Marae Quit Smoking Clinic
We are proud to partner with Kōkiri Marae Quit Coaches, who run a clinic at Ropata Health on Monday mornings.
Their team provides free, friendly support to help people and whānau become smokefree, including practical advice, encouragement, and access to stop-smoking tools and treatments.
If you’d like to book an appointment with a Quit Coach, please talk to our reception team.
Giving back: charities and causes we support
Our staff regularly choose local charities and community groups to support through fundraising, collections, and awareness campaigns.
Some of the organisations we’ve supported include:
- HUHA – Helping You Help Animals
- Bellyful – providing meals for families with newborns and young children
- Women’s Refuge – supporting the safety and wellbeing of women and children
We also get behind monthly health promotion campaigns and language and culture celebrations, such as:
- Health awareness weeks and months (for example, heart health or mental health)
- Te Wiki o te Reo Māori and other language weeks
- Cultural celebration days that reflect our diverse staff and patient community
These activities help us share important health messages, celebrate diversity, and create a welcoming environment for everyone who walks through our doors.
Our team and workplace culture
Looking after our team is a big part of looking after our patients.
We take part in events like corporate runs and other team activities that build strong relationships and keep us active and connected. These events are about having fun, supporting each other, and modelling the healthy lifestyles we promote in our clinical work.
Spaces and services for the community
Ropata Health can also support the community by making our facilities and services available for appropriate health-related activities, including:
- Rooms to rent for health providers and community health services
- One-off evening or weekend clinics
- Health van hire for outreach or off-site health initiatives
If you’re interested in using our space or services for a community health activity, please contact our team to discuss options.
